Once work began on our site in early 2017, a new CLG was established. As agreed with Lancashire County Council, as part of the discharge of planning conditions for our Preston New Road site, the County Council worked with the local parish council to recruit local people for this new group.  The Terms of Reference for the current CLG can be found here.

Environment Agency Permits

In parallel with the planning applications, we submitted applications to the Environment Agency (EA) for the various environmental permits required for the proposed exploratory site:

• Installation Permit (this includes mining waste, groundwater and Industrial emissions permits);
• Radiological Substances Permit;
• Greenhouse Gas Permit;
• Flood Defence Consent.

These applications were submitted to the EA on 5^th June 2014 for the Preston New Road site. The EA then ran a public consultation process for the permits. The EA announced on 16^th January 2015 it had granted Cuadrilla the environmental permits for its proposed shale gas exploration site at Preston New Road.
