Westby

The Anna’s Road site is based near Westby. Planning consent was granted by Lancashire County Council (LCC) in November 2010, and the well was drilled to a depth of 2,074ft in 2012. Drilling was suspended when a drilling tool became stuck in the borehole. Although the tool was successfully recovered, the time taken to do so, coupled with the restrictions on drilling at the site during winter months (due to the presence of wintering birds), led us to decide not to progress exploration at the site.

Site restoration plans for Anna’s Road were approved by Lancashire County Council in February 2014. The relatively shallow well was plugged with cement and the site restored to its former Greenfield status, with work completed in July 2014.
